New Captain for Men's Team

The Amsterdam men’s team will have a new captain for the 2011 season. Derek Lowry, who joined the club in February of this year, will take over the armband from Darren Corcoran.

Derek is well respected both on and off the pitch by all and he finished the 2010 season by picking up the Newcomer of the Year trophy at the club’s awards dinner. He's also regarded as a bit of a style icon by some....

Derek will have big boots to fill following Darren’s two years at the helm. Darren leaves the captaincy on a high after leading the men’s team to their recent European tournament win in Maastricht. During his two years as captain, Darren implemented new training methods and has led the team to many great victories and finals. He’s put a tremendous amount of work into the club, and his dedication has shone through. The club would like to thank Darren for his commitment and excellent leadership over the past two years.

Congratulations to Derek; we look forward to him leading the men’s team to some great victories next season!
