Amsterdam GAC's Christmas Party

With the festive season upon us, Amsterdam GAC held their Christmas party and awards ceremony in the Hole in the Wall on Saturday, December 4th.

An excellent night was had, where the men's team celebrated (again!) their European tournament win in Maastricht in November, and the various men's player of the year awards were handed out. Holland Ladies will receive their awards next week at the Irish Club Christmas Party in Den Haag.

Our special guest, Andy Smith, reminded us of the reasons why we're part of this club (and that he should never have been trusted with the dressing room keys), our chairman Ronan O'Riordan presented the club awards, and Darren Corcoran presented the player of the tournament award from the Maastricht tournament.

Ian Marshall picked up the Foreign Player of the Year award, as well as the player of the tournament award for Maastricht. One of the more modest and quiet players of the team, Marshy has kept us in so many matches during the season with some excellent saves.

Derek Lowry picked up the Newcomer of the Year award; Kenny Monaghan did not :D Derek has been a great addition to the team and was one of our leading player throughout the year.

Simon Palmer picked up the Player of the Year award after some terrific performances and scores during the year.

Many thanks to the Hole in the Wall for an excellent dinner, Kenny Bogan for the music, plus special music and dance performances by Conor, Derek, Keren and Simon!

Thanks to all for coming on the night itself, and for the hard work and training done by all this year. Let's make 2011 another successful season for both the Amsterdam Men's and Holland Ladies teams!
