Amsterdam
GAC are 48 hours away from the end of the 2012 season, and the most successful
in the club’s history.
The club trophy cabinet has been packed to the rafters this year…well technically we don’t have a cabinet but its well worth the investment after this season! And there’s still time to add a few more cups…in particular a Ladies European title to our haul!
Holland Ladies are on top form after their recent European tournament win in Vienna, and go into the European Finals in Maastricht on Saturday, tied at the top of the Ladies European Championship alongside old rivals Belgium Ladies. With both teams on either side of the draw, who would bet against a third successive final between the two teams, with a European title at stake!

Holland Ladies
will bring 25 players to Maastricht, and field two teams – great credit to Rose
as captain, and James, Pete, and Ivan as coaches for getting so many girls out
training all year. The whole club’s behind you…bring that title home!!
On the men’s
side, it’s been a great 2012, with our Championship team winning the Benelux
Championship, and our Shield team winning the inaugural Benelux Shield.
Our
Championship team are back on familiar territory with Maastricht
being the place where they claimed the Benelux title in July, and will
fancy their odds against in-form teams such as Guernsey and Belgium in the
European Mens Championship.
The Shield
team haven’t competed since winning the Benelux Shield, so they look to pick up
where they left off, but will have to overcome 18 other teams first in the largest
ever European Mens Shield competition. The Shield team have been drawn against familiar
foes Belgium B and Dusseldorf , as well as French
teams, Rennes
and Clermont.
It’s been a
terrific 2012 for the club, now time to finish it off right…best of luck to
all!!!
