Pre-season is in full flow for Amsterdam two mens teams as both the Amsterdam A’s and Amsterdam B’s are counting down the days till March 31st, and the start of the 2012 Benelux Championship.
After last year’s successful capture of the European Shield, expectations are high for both teams for this season and this has raised the intensity on both the training field, and in pre season matches.
At the recent Invitational tournament, Amsterdam claimed big victories over a Den Haag team, and a very hard fought one point victory over Belgium, both of whom we will face against during the Benelux Championship.
With a number of new players making their debuts during the day and bedding into the two squads, it looks like 2012 will show the strength in depth Amsterdam GAC have in their ranks.
With the European Shield winning coaches, Brendan Finnegan and Derek Lowry, back in charge, as well as the addition of the highly experienced coach, Mickey Kelly, to the management team, all is in place for another successful season, and a back to back European GAA title!
