The countdown begins for our home tournament of the year, when Amsterdam GAC hosts Round 2 of the Mens Benelux Championship on May 14th. For the club, this is a great opportunity for us to utilise our new facilities; two gaelic pitches, new clubhouse and extra changing rooms.
With the mens team boasting much larger numbers this year, the club hopes to be able to put out two full squads for the tournament. As always, we’re still looking for new players for the season, so please don’t hesitate to get into touch.
The ladies do not have a European tournament on the day, but will be competing in a number of friendly matches against rival Benelux ladies teams.
As training and the weather heats up again, with all eyes on the home tournament, the club is going to 3 training sessions a week. As well as the usual Tuesday and Saturday gaelic training, on Wednesday nights we will now be hosting interval & strength training in the Vondelpark, meeting at the Film Museum at 7.30pm. As the evenings are much nicer, it’s a great time to be in park, and the training is an ideal way to prepare yourself for the long season ahead. See you there next week!
