On Sunday 14 September, after 60 minutes, of blood, sweat, and every color card shown, in a highly intense game, with end-to-end action - Amsterdam were crowned European Champions 2014 - Peile na hEorpa 2014 Buaiteoiri!!
Having beaten Munich in the semi-final, a strong Belgium side stood before Amsterdam in the final. After a delayed kick-of, Amsterdam started very strongly, scoring a goal early in the half and working hard to keep possession and Belgium out of their half. As the half progressed, the intensity of game increased. In the first half alone, Amsterdam received one yellow card, and Belgium one black and one red card.
Going into the second half, with an extra man, and with a score of 1-4 - 0-3 in their favor, Amsterdam fought hard to keep Belgium from scoring any goals, and every really getting back into the game.
Lots of hard work and determination won us the game. Weeks of focused training, and most of all, team work! Congratulations!
