Winter Activities

Following a very successful season, Amsterdam GAC has a number of social and sporting activities to keep all our players and supporters entertained on the lead up to Christmas.

The club has organised indoor soccer in the Pijp Sporthall every Saturday & Sunday and are always looking for more lads and ladies to play.

Rob Ducie is holding weekly fitness training sessions every Saturday in Amsterdam’s parks for anybody interested in keeping in shape over the winter.

Rose Holland and David Corcoran are starting running groups during the weeknights and weekends, and are on the lookout for any runners out there who are interested in joining in!

Any newcomers to Amsterdam, or anybody interested in joining the club are more than welcome, and you can get details on the fitness training, indoor soccer, the running groups, or about joining our mens and ladies gaelic football and hurling teams by contacting David at corcoran.david@gmail.com or 06-10135761.

Pub quizzes are also back again, and following on from our very large turnout at our last one in late October, our next one will be in the Hole in the Wall bar in Leidseplein, on Wednesday November 30th @ 8pm with half the proceeds going towards Movember Charity.

Chris Tazelaar, Derek McElhinney, and Matt Nieberg are taking the reins of this one as quizmasters and MC’s, so make sure you come along for a good night of entertainment, and as always, friends, colleagues, randomers you meet in the park etc, are all welcome!

The club’s Christmas Party will be on Saturday December 17th in the Hole in the Wall bar, so make sure you keep the date free. Ladies and Men’s player awards will be handed out, a return of the dance competition from last year, and some festive cheer!

Finally, we’re on the lookout for any new ideas for social or sporting events for next year. The club is hoping to host a race night in early 2012, so if anyone’s interested in getting involved in this, or has other ideas, please let us know! You can get in touch with our club PRO’s by emailing, Deirdre White at w.deirdre@gmail.com, and Kenny Monaghan at kenny.monaghan@gmail.com
