European Glory Beckons for Amsterdam

Amsterdam GAC is counting down the hours to the biggest day in club history. Saturday, November 5th, is the final European tournament of the year, with Amsterdam set to win the European Men’s Shield at the Gaelic Grounds in Limerick.

In a year full of successes, the men’s and ladies teams have taken in tournaments all across Europe, from Belgium to Frankfurt, to Barcelona to Guernsey, and now Ireland. Fresh from coverage across a wide range of media spectrums including the Leinster Leader, Meath Chronicle and Western People, the club is in full swing ahead of the European Finals.

On the back of three consecutive European tournament wins, the Amsterdam Men’s team is undefeated in Europe and will look to complete a clean sweep of the tournaments whilst the overall European Shield trophy has already been secured. With two men’s teams in action from Amsterdam, there is a great likelihood the A’s will meet the B’s for the first time ever, and with two full strength panels, there can be no calling of that match at this stage. Both panels will fancy their chances at pulling off a victory against their training ground teammates.

On the ladies side, boosted from a strong performance in Belgium European tournament in September, and capped off by Rose Holland winning the European Ladies Player of the Tournament Award, Holland Ladies have a great chance to secure a tournament win in front of a home crowd.

After an incredible season, all roads lead to the Gaelic Grounds and European glory!!!
